U.S. gymnast Riley McCusker was fortunate to walk away from a scary balance beam fall at the AT&T American Cup on Saturday.

McCusker, a 15-year-old in her first international competition, landed on her back on her dismount, her head snapping back on the mat.

McCusker tumbled over but got up and walked off, visibly shaken. She continued to compete, finishing on floor exercise.

Americans Yul Moldauer and Ragan Smith swept the men’s and women’s American Cup titles. McCusker scored 12.6 points on beam and ended up in fourth place overall, 3.133 behind Smith.
