Ashton Eaton, Galen Rupp part of Nike Oregon Animal House tribute (video)

Some of the University of Oregon’s greatest athletes gathered for a Nike ad that paid homage to “Animal House,” a music video of sorts to “Shout.”

The cast mostly included football players — such as Oregon quarterbacks Dan Fouts, Joey Harrington, Dennis Dixon and Marcus Mariota — but it wouldn’t be complete without track and field stars.

Olympic decathlon champion Ashton Eaton, Olympic 10,000m silver medalist Galen Rupp and U.S. 100m champion English Gardner were part of the toga party.

Eaton and Rupp are noted Oregon football fans. Eaton competed against the Oregon Ducks mascot in a hurdles race on College GameDay two years ago. Rupp has been known to tailgate for Oregon games with World Championships medalists.

Olympic champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White and Katie Ledecky are among 14 semifinalists for the Sullivan Award, which honors the nation’s outstanding amateur athlete for 2014.

Also nominated were World champion gymnast Simone Biles, Olympic bronze medalist luger Erin Hamlin, Olympic champion water polo player Maggie Steffens and World champion wrestler Adeline Gray.

They make up the top semifinalists among Olympians and Olympic hopefuls. They’ll go up against Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Marcus Mariota, Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott and Duke center Jahlil Okafor, among others.

Voting is available here and will close Sunday. A winner will be announced among six finalists on April 19.

In 2014, Davis and White became the first U.S. ice dancers to win Olympic gold. Ledecky broke swimming world records in three events. Biles became the first U.S. woman to win four gold medals at a single World Gymnastics Championships.
